Dense Arena to Challenge Tributes

The arena for the Spring Real World Hunger Games should pose some difficult challenges for tributes. The forest contains a mix of coniferous and deciduous trees. The undergrowth is dense with thorns, weeds, and other various plants. This density could cause some mobility difficulty for some tributes while providing valuable hiding places for others.

The other difficult arena feature will be the river that runs through the center of the arena. Nearly 75% of tributes cross the river during the Hunger Games and every victor crossed the river at least twice during their victory. One of the first decisions tributes will have to make is whether or not to cross the river. The north side contains dense forest which can provide valuable shelter while the Cornucopia side (South) is more open and familiar to tributes. Deciding to stay on the south side also eliminates the chance of falling in the river and getting wet. Playing with wet (or no) shoes can make for a miserable Hunger Games, and thus increases the chance of a forfeit.
