A Successful Camp

Hunger Games Training Camp which took place on Monday, July 29 was a huge success. Those in attendance learned the basics of the Hunger Games. After learning the basics, tributes learned survival and strategy skills that they could use during the games. After a period of weapon practice, tributes participated in a practice games where they employed some of the skills they learned. In a surprising upset, the two youngest tributes, Alec and Owen, battled to a draw. They waited out the majority of the games by staying out of the way in a tree. They then came down when the only other tribute, Kyle, had only one arm and one leg (the other two having been lost in previous battles). They eliminated him and then fought and eliminated each other at the same time. This camp has proved that youth does indeed have a chance to succeed in the Hunger Games.
